Changemaker reflection; Aliyah Mensch; Group 1, 11:00 class

From listening to my  class  presentation on  changemakers,  it was very  intriguing  and fun to learn about. Everyone did an amazing job researching their perso n from different time periods and  I  enjoyed watching the interviews and historical videos on the changemakers.  I  got to do my part by  researching  a changemaker from the 1900s, and I chose Paul McCartney. He was  an inspiration because of   his contributions  to  pop culture in music and  speaking  about animal cruelty.  I chose to  do  a musician because I personally love music and the band The Beatles. I got to learn some  less  known things about  him  for example , he wrote a children's book in 2019 called “Hey  Grandude !”.  Another person in my group  researched on  a musician as well. They wrote about Duke Ellington who is famous for being a pianist and ...

In my Public Speaking class we recently completed an assignment that focused on changemakers from different time periods. The goal of the project was to look at history through the people who influenced it rather than just the events themselves. Each group was assigned a different century and had to present several individuals who made important contributions to society. There were presentations about changemakers from the time of the Constitution, the 1800s, the 1900s (which was my group), and the 2000s. Seeing all the presentations together made the class feel like we were watching a timeline of how people throughout history have shaped the world. Overall, the assignment was really interesting and it taught me a lot about how one person’s actions can affect millions of others. The first presentation focused on changemakers from the time when the United States was first forming its government. The group talked about important historical figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Fran...

Changemakers Presentations For t he past weeks my classmates and I did presentations about changemakers who exist in different historical periods. The experience of listening to all the presentations proved to be highly captivating for me. The presentation allowed me to study history while I observed my classmates understanding of what a changemaker means. The presentations brought me satisfaction because all participants successfully demonstrated their research findings together with their personal viewpoints. The group I was part of presented on changemakers from the 1900s. Our group included presentations on Rosa Parks, Susan B. Anthony, Paul McCartney, Martin Luther King Jr., Rachel Carson, Duke Ellington, and Frank Church. My presentation topic about Rosa Parks made me feel confident about my work. I had already done a lot of research about her before because I previously worked on a project about her, so presenting about her again felt natural. Through her courageous actions duri...
